Jess and I are running away to Europe.. but we will be back in 6 months so don't miss us too much.
As mature adults we are more than capable of budgeting and planning accommodation for the whole trip, however, we decided to wing it and go without much of a plan. Why? we will never know! But with Hamish and Andy as our role models how can we possibly go wrong?
We hope you enjoy seeing the pictures that we post, reading about the crazy adventures we have and snickering at our misfortunes that we will encounter along the way. It is a big step in our lives and a journey that will help us discover the true meaning of being independent. Don't worry about us too much though, I am confident that Jess will be able to take great care of us both.

Dream Achieved! We can come home now.

Monday February 10, 2014.

Today's dream: to walk on snow and build our first snow man!

To achieve aforementioned dream we went to Aviemore, where it was going to SNOW whether it wanted to or not! When we arrived we found no snow. We did, however, find a mountain that would make our snowy dreams become a reality...
Here is where our journey to the snow began, Cairn Gorn mountain!! Actually this is Aviemore train station but Cairn Gorn is in the little blue circle (at least I think that is the one...).

Before we even got on the bus, we walked past this amazing old school lolly shop and accidentally walked inside and bought some lollies.
Mr Simms Olde Sweet Shop: Purveyor of the most difficult decisions, diabetes and a lighter wallet.. And the finest comfectionery.

After this slight detour we were back on track to achieving our dream. We jumped on the bus and were driven to the Cairn Gorn ski resort where we did not hire skiis or snowboards as we were having enough trouble trying to walk like normal human beings, let alone slide down a mountain on skinny, stick things.

Here we took our first steps on some good quality snow... Or what looks like perfect snow.. It was actually not fluffy or squishy at all like it seems in the movies.  Very rough and slippery. We were very confused! Since when does Hollywood tell lies?
It was snow though so the first part of our dream was achieved.

Everyone else was walking up the slopes and down the stairs with such grace. Meanwhile, Jess and I struggled to walk along the flat bits without stacking it. By the end of the day we calculated that we had probably tripped or fallen at leas 25 times.

When we got to the top (actually we only got half way up because the wind got a little bit ridiculous for us) we enjoyed the fantastic view...
Of whiteness...
It was sooo cool... Literally. Absoloutely stunning! The photos don't do it any justice!

We know it's not the beach...buuut..
Hot dogs or legs?

We also had a snack up there because with all that climbing we really worked up an appetite.

Then came the part where we had to descend our great mountain.
Or perhaps roll down?
It was incredibly difficult to walk down because the snow was compacted so that it was like walking on an ice skating rink. Should have brought our skates.

I couldn't go the day without throwing some thing at Jess.
Hehe
Once we had finished playing around on the ski-slopes we had some hot lunch.

Then came phase 2 of our dream achieving plan. The snow man.

We had tried to make one on the slopes but there was no fluffy snow.. So we journeyed else where and found another small hill next to the road where no one was skiing and the snow was slightly more squishy.
Here our snow man (but she was also a woman) came to life.

A masterpiece. Mrs Iglesias, the beautiful white shesnowman.

Well we were drenched and freezing from spending most of the day on the ground but there was a smile on our face, snot dripping from our noses and hope in our hearts as we caught the train back to our home in Inverness and realised that we had accomplished what we came here to do. Dream Achieved.

Also we figured that photos didn't do our clumsiness justice so we attached a video of some of our greatest moments climbing the big hill.

We hope you like the video, hopefully it works haha. Also sorry about this post being so late we had some trouble trying to upload everything.

Missing you all very very much! Will post again soon as there has been even more excitement since Monday!
