It has been a weekend of partying hard!
Leo's birthday party was on Saturday and he turned a very big 2 yesterday so there was much cause for celebration.
Getting ready for the party required all hands on deck.
When baking the cake, Cathy ran into some trouble because the oven decided that Saturday was the perfect day to go bananas and turn itself off every now and then. However, it did not succeed in destroying our cakey dreams. Cathy was able to work with the temperamental oven and create the coolest construction themed cake I have seen.
Leonardo was one very happy 2 year old!
Happy birthday you beautiful boy! This is pre-candle blow out.
Jessica put her artistic skills to the test to create a big picture of Leo for 'pin the nose on the Leo!'
Pre-nasal construction:
Never leave myself or Jess in charge of cutting out noses. Some of them look nothing like noses and, if taken out of context, could be confused for other oddly shaped body parts... Like kidneys or lungs... No, not male genitals! Ugh everybody get your minds out of the gutter! Gross, I'm absolutely disgusted with you all.
Anyway after creating that masterpiece we headed to the kitchen to make some rice crispies and cupcakes. We were instructed to make pink and purple cupcakes as those are Leo's favourite colours, we even sprinkled them with edible flower decorations!
All the kids seemed to have a ball, playing games and eating food.
We also got to sneak in some photos with the old man.

Sunday was Leo's official birthday and he was surprised with a train set from mum and dad!
This is a shot of our wonderful host family, Cathy, Leo and Alex. Not sure who was having more fun with those trains haha! I was told, as I approached the maze of trains, that I would have to wait my turn if I wanted to have a go because Alex wasn't finished playing yet.
It's was an awesome weekend and everyone was totally and utterly knackered by the end of it.
Ps: For dinner on Sunday night we had a chicken dish. Now there is one less chicken in the back yard.
Who will be next?? The cat? The ferret?... Jess? Who knows!! Stay tuned to find out!
Pps: Today's post will be coming tomorrow as it needs a whole post just to itself. Jessica and I did something no two 18 year old, Queensland girls, with the names of Jessica Ruth Miller and Jazmin Courtey Foster-Macready have ever done before. It has been a day to go down in history, a day of heroinic bravery and discovery that will be told for generations to come. To our children and to our children's children and hopefully (if we live long enough to keep the story alive) to our children's children's' children. Then it will probably be forgotten. But for now it is remembered!

Who had the most fun - Leo, or Jaz & Jess????? Sounds like a lovely party weekend. Looking forward to the next post to see what you two have been up to now..... Love to you both. Grandmaaa xoxo
