Jess and I are running away to Europe.. but we will be back in 6 months so don't miss us too much.
As mature adults we are more than capable of budgeting and planning accommodation for the whole trip, however, we decided to wing it and go without much of a plan. Why? we will never know! But with Hamish and Andy as our role models how can we possibly go wrong?
We hope you enjoy seeing the pictures that we post, reading about the crazy adventures we have and snickering at our misfortunes that we will encounter along the way. It is a big step in our lives and a journey that will help us discover the true meaning of being independent. Don't worry about us too much though, I am confident that Jess will be able to take great care of us both.

Bonjour Nice!! Although, Je ne sais pas!!

We left the comfort of our hostel beds this morning at the insane hour of 3 o'clock. We ran for one bus (wrong bus), missed it. Chased down another bus (right bus), succeeded. Caught the 'easy bus' to Gatwick airport, where we made our flight with plenty of time to spare. Bags are somehow a lot heavier than expected but the lady at the desk let us sneak them through free of charge! thank you so much you wonderful aeroplane lady! May have to dump some items before the next flights though.

Flew safely into Nice, despite the unsettling clanging sound we heard as we rolled down the runway.

Ahhh Nice, a beautiful city that drives on the wrong side of the road, has pebbles instead of sand on it's beaches and surprisingly enough is home to many French speaking people. We definitely should have brushed up on our French a bit more. Ach nein! Es ist nicht so gut.
The day so far has been full of 'Je ne sais pas', 'qu'est-ce que c'est', 'je ne parle pas français' and 'sorry?'.

We strolled along the beautiful stretch of beaches, climbed upto the lookout and treated ourselves to some awesome food.

Beautiful Nice!

Zig zag of stairs to climb up to look out.

Amazing view!!!

In front of a large monument thing. I do not know what its purpose is but it was big so a photo was necessary.
Stumbling over a railing to get to the lighthouse. One of Jess' classic 'f*** the police' moments.

Very tasteful post card.
This harbour housed some incredibly humungous boats.
The markets.
Olive stand.
Our pizza/wrap/crepe/round thing being made. Very delicious.
dinner time!!

Tomorrow we spend the day here again before moving onto Genoa. Hopefully it will be as beautiful tomorrow, as it was today! Loved it so much!

Love you all!! Xoxoxoxo

Ps: we got badly sunburnt today. Must purchase some sunscreen soon!

  1. No wonder you got sunburnt - going straight from being covered completely for months to sleeveless for a full day in the hot sun!!!!!!!! Get that sunscreen :)))) And for goodness sake, don't take too much more off :))) Looks wonderful. Love the sombreros on the postcard - extremely tasteful...... Take care, have lots of fun, and stay safe. Love to you both. Grandmaa xoxo
