Jess and I are running away to Europe.. but we will be back in 6 months so don't miss us too much.
As mature adults we are more than capable of budgeting and planning accommodation for the whole trip, however, we decided to wing it and go without much of a plan. Why? we will never know! But with Hamish and Andy as our role models how can we possibly go wrong?
We hope you enjoy seeing the pictures that we post, reading about the crazy adventures we have and snickering at our misfortunes that we will encounter along the way. It is a big step in our lives and a journey that will help us discover the true meaning of being independent. Don't worry about us too much though, I am confident that Jess will be able to take great care of us both.

Living the Scottish high life!

Sorry it has been a while! Don't panic though, we haven't been eaten by the Loch Ness monster, we are still well and truly alive and in one piece. In fact things have been mighty fine all the way up here in Inverness.
Over the past couple of days we have dabbled in hiking (what we define as going for a walk up a hill in boots), dog walking, baby sitting, pitch forking (?'gardening'?) and we have done some more leafleting and eaten way too much food. Well I have anyway, I'm pretty much the garbage disposal here.
"Oh you're not going to eat those 5 slices of pizza? Don't worry Jazmin will take care of that."

A lovely view after 'hiking'

This is Jess having a snooze mid hike. The ground in the woods is so soft and juicy that it is comfortable enough to lie down on. There aren't any scary animals to worry about getting bitten by either which is lovely.
Tansy fetching a stick. The sun was a little bright sorry.
Leo and I went for a walk to see the sheep. He did not want to smile.
At all.
What a cutie though, look at that beanie!
This is us doing some gardening in one of the pollytunnels. We will be laying pea and lettuce eggs soon and mothering them over the next couple of days before we leave this beautiful home!

Yesterday while we were leafleting we found this bridge and because we thought it was very cute we decided to eat a sandwhich on it.
Later on we bumped into the missionaries from my church who had a free afternoon and came and got a hot chocolate with us.
After chatting about why on earth we were doing what we were doing and also about how they were going on their big trip, we parted and went and met up with Cathy and her good friend Sarah who took us home.

Today we helped a lot around the house and tomorrow we are having a party for Leo's birthday so it should be lots of fuuuuuun!!!

We are missing you all so much! Home sickness is trying to slap us in the face at the moment but Cathy, Alex and Leo have made us feel at home so that has made it a little less difficult.

Ps: fun fact for everyone! Jess and I ate through an entire loaf of bread today.. And half a jar of jam...Jam on toast is like a drug to us. We have withdrawals when we can't have it (symptoms include: being hungry for jam on toast, staring longingly at the jam jar and wishing more bread would appear, becoming violent towards the person who ate the last slice of bread, trying to reason with yourself that eating straight jam would be similar, finding out that it is most definitely not, swelling of the tongue, leaking from the eyeballs, hair loss, malnutrition, hunger and starvation all of which lead eventually to death. One more symptom is the extreme happiness felt when lovely host parents come home with new loaf of bread) and practically inhale it (ahah.. No pun intended) when we do have it! It is food sent straight from the heavens. Mmmmm. Jam on toast.
