Jess and I are running away to Europe.. but we will be back in 6 months so don't miss us too much.
As mature adults we are more than capable of budgeting and planning accommodation for the whole trip, however, we decided to wing it and go without much of a plan. Why? we will never know! But with Hamish and Andy as our role models how can we possibly go wrong?
We hope you enjoy seeing the pictures that we post, reading about the crazy adventures we have and snickering at our misfortunes that we will encounter along the way. It is a big step in our lives and a journey that will help us discover the true meaning of being independent. Don't worry about us too much though, I am confident that Jess will be able to take great care of us both.

Notting Hill (film 2014) - starring Jessica Ruth Miller and Jazmin F-M

Woke up to a chilli 3 degrees this morning!! Hyde Park looked so eerie.
Started our morning by catching the bus to Notting Hill where we found so many little stores on the side of the road!
AND we scored some new boots! £5 a pair!! We had to double check 5 times with the lady that all the boots were £5 haha she was very confused as to why we were so shocked. How that store will make any money we will never know!

Also we found an interesting assortment of condoms in another store.
Tehe we wanted to buy them all but didn't really have a good reason to, so took a photo instead... We've already seen Big Ben anyway so didn't need to buy that one.

Notting Hill is such a sweet town! Look at this beautiful street!!
Oh. Soo... No bins? Haha how strange!
But it really is a sweet town! Look at this old house!

Before we hit up the markets on Portabello rd we stopped at a cafe along the way for a spot of tea and a chance to catch up with the news of London.

At the markets we found a sign that fits Jessica to a tea! She even told me to remember this throughout our trip as we were getting on the plane to leave haha!
We found some beautiful flowers at the markets! Tulips, Tulips everywhere!
My market bought raspberries..
Jess with her market bought grapes.
Jess and I were looking for the bookshop from the movie Notting Hill but sadly weren't able to find it this time round :( but we did find a cut out of Hugh Grant's face with holes in the eyes so you can wear it as a mask.. So that's always a bonus..

Next stop, Harrods!! Well. Um. It was a little steep for our price range..
And, while we couldn't afford to buy the $750 brooch or the $600 children's suitcase we did get some lovely shots with the Harrods teddy bears.
And it was nice to see that the gift store had more affordable items for cheapos like us. So don't panic we didn't leave empty handed! Oh also the toilets were very posh indeed so that was a nice change for our bottoms.

Today Jess and I also ventured into the Victoria and Albert museum where Jess got the chance to express her love and vast knowledge of the history of our world by taking me on an educated tour of the place and informing me of many things most people would not know.
For example:
Here in this very window, Juliet was called upon by Romeo in the late, late hours of the night.
And,
As you can see from this footwear, humans used to only have two toes but now have five. The human race has evolved greatly in the last millennium.
As tour leader Jess was understandably excused from following general museum protocol.
Quote of the day goes to Jess once again! "Puck the police!" ('P' is not a 'p' in this case, however, there are mothers and grandmothers reading so we can't be too explicit)

Jess being Jess hahaha!

A high five from Mary herself.

Getting lost in the painting

Just checking whether this man was indeed a man...
After all, we had spent all day yesterday looking at male genitalia so were shocked to see this man wearing clothes.. We thought we were safe today..
But no. Got smacked right in the face with a room dedicated to naked men.

Sadly a lot of the rooms did not allow photography so we can't show you too many pictures but we both really loved the stained glass rooms, they were stunning!

After the museum we visited the Hyde Park branch of my church yaaaay!! It was cool to see it in a different country, it still feels the same wherever you go which is comforting to know :)

We ended our afternoon with another stroll through Hyde Park.
Where we met up with Peter Pan!
And enjoyed the scenery.
Had noodles for dinner and watched sex and the city as you do when you are in London haha!

We are so pooped!! Every day has been so busy but we are loving every second of it so far! Tomorrow we have another big day in store so get excited for that post! Hahaha hope all is well back home!

Goodnight from us xx

  1. Hey Jaz. Looks like you guys are having fun. Reason they have no bins is because of the IRA. In the past, the IRA used to put bombs in bins. So there are no bins. Weird I know considering there is peace now. You guys should try and check out Kew Gardens while you are there too. It's very beautiful. - Adam
