Jessica and I satisfied our historic curiosities in the British Museum today. It's fairly sizeable, maybe a little bit bigger than our houses put together. Only just. You could probably only fit 100 football fields in there.. Hehe no seriously it was bloody huge! There was a massive collection of old statues and coins and paintings and weapons and rugs and robes and dishes and pots and dead bodies and toilets and hyrogliphics and artistic creations and naked sculptures and tabacco pipes and wew lots of other things that I wouldn't even know how to begin to describe!!
This thingy was particularly interesting! These two longs meshy sheets held the average amount of medication that your average British person (but I guess a lot of others could apply it too) will use in their life. Women on the left and men on the right. It included shots as babies through to contraceptive pills, through to asthma pills and blood pressure pills and worm treatments and every other sort of medication you can think of. It was insane to see how many pharmaceutical goodies we go through!
African tabacco pipe... Sucking from the belly button pipe I assume? Hahaha
Sculpture of an African lady... Who must have mothered several children and walked around braless her whole life..
This man was buried with his belongings about 3500 BC ... That's pretty old..
Um we'd just like to point out at this stage that all of the women in these sculptures appear to be making some effort to hide their lady bits. This is Aphrodite who has been surprised whilst bathing... Now if you will all turn your attention to the males in the museum...
Yes, hello!
Doesn't even make an effort to cover himself with his cape, just wants the world to see it.
He's putting it all on show too.
No heads just genitals. But ouch! Hoof in the bits.. That's got to hurt! Now why would you be naked in a battle like this?? Some protection please, or you deserve to lose it!
And well, this man is just posing. Blatantly asking for some ogling!
I will never understand men. So confident about their goods. The sculptures were all magnificent though! Such detail! (Not just in the genitals! I have moved on from that you can all get your minds out of the gutter now! Especially you, Rachel Annette Foster)
One big kitty cat!
We loved this room the walls were covered in these images of a royal lion hunt I think it was! Amazing detail!
At first we thought she was giving birth but low and behold we had stumbled across some Japanese erotica. Because if E=mc^2 then sex makes sense too! Quote of the day goes to Jess after a minute of careful observation.
"How.. Who? ... What..umm... How does she get her legs like that?" One of the many mysteries of life! Perhaps she was really good at yoga?
And we'll end your virtual tour of the museum on a Classic Buddha shot... A little skinnier than I would have thought but maybe he has been watching his weight!
This is a photo of Jess...can you spot her?
This is a well thought out photo of Jess!
Also disaster struck on the way home.. We came across Primark.. Oh dear. £2 for winter tights!! Steal! At least it's a steal until we spend all our money buying cheap things in there... May we never walk by this shop again.
So that ends our day today! We apologise for the long post but there is just so much to write about!
